â€Å"Women’s empowerment results from a process where women can freely analyze, develop, and voice their needs and interests without them being predefined or unwillingly imposed by religion, government, or social norms and where their influence and control extends women’s familial/kinship circles† (Haghighat, par.6). There is an ongoing fight for women’s rights everywhere around the world. Men have been getting more power than women such as economic and political power and their rights are not limited as women rights are. There are not any limits with men whereas women are limited to many things. â€Å"When voting rights were given to women in the late 1800’s to 1920 it was a decisive moment in the women’s right movement in western Europe and North†¦show more content†¦They all are given the rights to determine what is given to the women in their lives. They are not given the social status because of these constraints on them. Howe ver, â€Å"In the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, women have been gaining access to resources to such as education and reproductive health and Haghighat will explain in this paper that â€Å"access to resources is only one requirement for acquiring control and a more equal standing in the society† (Haghighat, par.3). These resources are just one step to women gaining more equality and social status in their lives. These resources that they are starting to gain access to, shows that women being equal in these countries are an important factor in this society.
